Laboratorio di Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (CAN Lab)

Descrizione e obiettivi

Il Laboratorio svolge attività didattiche e di ricerca nell’ambito dei settori disciplinari M-PSI/02 e MPSI/07 sui temi delle neuroscienze cognitive e della psicologia clinica.

In particolare, le attività di ricerca in neuroscienze cognitive comprendono da un lato lo studio dei disturbi sia evolutivi che acquisiti, dall’altro l’indagine dei processi cognitivi e percettivi e dei loro correlati neurali nel soggetto adulto sano e con disturbi neuropsicologici. In ambito evolutivo, si conducono studi sui processi di apprendimento della lettura, scrittura, calcolo e linguaggio in popolazioni a sviluppo tipico e atipico (per presenza di disturbi di apprendimento, bilinguismo, sordità, etc.). Inoltre, si conducono studi sui disturbi del neurosviluppo (dsa, adhd, disturbi di linguaggio etc.) in popolazioni di età evolutiva e di adulti, al fine di studiarne il profilo di funzionamento cognitivo e mettere a punto strumenti diagnostici e riabilitativi. La ricerca inerente i disturbi acquisiti verterà su alcuni disturbi neuropsicologici acquisiti come l’afasia, il neglect, i disturbi degenerativi ed altri disturbi neuropsicologici. Sui soggetti adulti sani si potranno condurre studi su più linee di ricerca quali: i) l’indagine dell’attività metabolica prefrontale legata a disturbi dell’umore, in relazione a fattori quali il sonno e gli stili di vita, ii) lo studio dell’impatto sulla performance cognitiva della stimolazione transcranica per mezzo di onde nel vicino infrarosso, iii) l’analisi della percezione del dolore in condizioni cross-modali dolore-visione e dolore-tatto.

Le attività di ricerca in Psicologia clinica e dinamica sono inerenti l’analisi delle relazioni tra dimensioni psicologiche (tratti di personalità, coinvolgimento emotivo-affettivo, aspetti psicopatologici), componenti biologiche (espressione genica, modulazione neurotrasmettitoriali) e attivazione neurofisiologica di popolazioni cliniche e non cliniche. Inoltre, l’attività di ricerca riguarderà l’analisi delle determinanti e, impatto psicofisiologico del benessere, della pratica sportiva e della salute in generale. L’attività laboratoriale riguarderà lo studio delle dinamiche intrapsichiche predominanti in franche sindromi psicosomatiche correlate allo stress. Dall’analisi delle funzioni cognitive la linea di ricerca condotta svilupperà l'interazione tra vulnerabilità biologica e fattori di stress ambientali nell'insorgenza e nel decorso delle psicosi. Infine, si approfondirà lo studio dei Sistemi Motivazionali Interpersonali all’interno di contesti terapeutici sperimentando l’applicazione e studio di efficacia di interventi psicoeducativi e psicoterapeutici innovativi.
